Lord Mayor’s Karting Challenge : 18 June 2017

The Company entered 2 teams in the City Go-Kart Grand Prix held in the middle of the racecourse at Sandown Park on Sunday 18 June.  The aim was for each team to drive as many laps as possible within a 2 hour period, and this resulted in some very competitive and serious wheel to wheel driving.  Despite being the hottest day of the year so far, the racing was as intense as ever, with the usual jostling, sliding, beautifully apexed corners and slick driver changes.

“Barbers 1” was crewed by three members of the Cutter crew — David Lee, Oliver Lee and Liveryman Tom Lee.

“Barbers 2” was captained by Freeman Fiona Caren and two ringers, Stuart Balfour and Steve Wells.

Very sadly we have not retained the winner’s cup which we won last year, but the Barbers still retained a podium finish with one team (kart 1) coming in second and the other (kart 2) sixth out of seventeen.  Well done to all involved.
